Read-only REST API
No account or API key is needed. Use GET requests. Each record carries its language, stable reference, sources, optional long_content, source-fidelity check, factual-accuracy review, contributor visibility, revision and rights.

Collection parameters: lang=en|fr|all; page starts at 1; per_page is 1–100; q searches titles and claims; topic accepts a topic slug; updated_since uses an ISO-8601 timestamp with timezone, for example 2026-10-24T00:00:00Z. The timestamp boundary is inclusive: deduplicate by record_id and revision.
Keep your copy current
- Start with a complete JSON or JSONL snapshot and save its dataset_revision. Both languages are included.
- Poll /changes?after=YOUR_CURSOR. Process events in order, follow has_more, and save next_cursor. Re-fetch updated records.
- Remove a withdrawn record from current answers and indexes. A previously public withdrawn reference returns HTTP 410 with a minimal tombstone. Never-published private submissions return 404.
Review changes, contributor visibility, photo metadata and corrections advance revisions even when the factual text is unchanged. ETags support conditional requests and HTTP 304. Preserve citations and review status whenever using a claim.

JSON-LD on web pages describes the dataset and records. Significant public URL changes are submitted to participating search engines through IndexNow. Discovery, indexing and use by an AI service are not guaranteed.
Reuse and attribution
Citizen.ca-owned original summaries, long-form text and annotations marked CC-BY-4.0 may be shared and adapted, including commercially, with appropriate attribution, a licence link and identification of changes. These permissions cannot be revoked for compliant uses. Cite Citizen.ca, the record URL/reference, language, revision and access date, and retain links to the underlying sources. This does not imply endorsement. CC BY 4.0.
Check text_license on each record. Member-owned text without an explicit additional licence is publication-only. Photographs, logos and cited third-party material are excluded from this text licence and retain their own conditions. Hiding a knowledge contributor does not remove required photographer credits.
Source fidelity is not a guarantee of factual accuracy. No recorded challenge is not proof of truth. Read current factual_accuracy_review and the review policy. Private submissions, private photos, account details, hidden contributor names and private report contents are never part of this public export.

Report a correction or concern privately
This form delivers directly to a private on-site administrator queue; it does not depend on email. Reports do not automatically flag a knowledge item. Do not submit passwords or other secrets. Any response is manual.
