Trade agreements and the change from G 8 to G 7

No recorded challenge is not proof of accuracy. A challenge under review is not a finding that the record is false.
The citizenship guide describes North American free trade and the former G 8. CUSMA replaced NAFTA in 2020, and current official Canadian information describes the G 7 rather than treating Russia as a current member of that group.
Scope & context
Independent citizenship-study support. Read the cited official sources; this is not an official question bank or a guarantee of a test result.
More context
The guide’s economic lesson is that international trade supports Canadian production and living standards, with the United States a major partner. The Canada–U.S. free-trade arrangement preceded NAFTA, which included Mexico from 1994. CUSMA entered into force on 1 July 2020.
The G 7 comprises Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States; the European Union also participates in its work. Distinguish historical agreement/group names from their current successors rather than memorizing an old guide’s “today” as permanently current.
